Fever 39.3°C, bilateral frontotemporal headaches, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea, respiratory rate of 22 bpm, heart rate of 115 bpm, and blood pressure of 107/65 mmHg.

Autopsy findings of encysted organisms were present within in the lungs, heart, ovaries, skeletal muscle, liver, lymph nodes, bone marrow, brain, and gastrointestinal tract (in both the allograft - jejunum and ileum - and the native bowel - esophagus, duodenum, and colon). No donor data are provided. The recipient’s negative serologies at the time of transplantation, lack of exposure to other sources of Toxoplasma, presence of Toxoplasma in the grafted bowel and timing of disease suggest transmission with the allograft.
