Alerting signals, symptoms, evidence of occurrence:
Recipient 1: Two months after cornea transplant the recipient developed a 3 mm yellow-white mass in the anterior chamber. Cryptococcosis grew from aqueous fluid. This extended and enucleation was needed. Recipient 2: Doing well at 6 months without complication. Donor was a 25 yr old with polymyositis, immunosuppressed and who developed progressive pneumonia and respiratory failure and died. Autopsy showed cryptococcal abscesses in the lung and brain.
